BPW INTERNATIONAL E-NEWS October 15, 2010 Issue 17

October 15, 2010 Issue 17
Dear giuseppina seidita
Dear BPW Members worldwide
From the Executive
From the President
History was made September 27-2010 in Las Vegas as the new BPW-USA Federation (known as EPW-USA) in the country, began its progress with the completion of a very successful General Assembly and Annual General Meeting (AGM) led by President Bessie Hironimus, electing a full board to begin the work on advancing the young Federation.
As a EPW-USA member and International President I was happy that International executives, 1st Vice President Gabriella Canonica, Executive Secretary Dr Jean Murray, Regional Coordinators Jill Worobec and Dr Yasmin Darwich as well as former International Presidents, Dr Pat Harrison and Dr Antoinette Ruegg were present to mark this wonderful occasion. Past President Yvette Swan was unable to attend and sent a congratulatory message. As a founding member of BPW International, BPW USA left in 1993 and recent circumst ances allowed the existing State Federations and Clubs to form the new country Federation (EPW-USA) which has taken its rightful place in the international organization. We are all very proud of this achievement.
Regional Coordinator Jill Worobec and Young BPW Chair Nadia Munawar completed the successful BPW International North American Regional Conference and Young BPW International Conference which were also held in conjunction with the General Assembly in Las Vegas. A record of 17 countries were represented, new memberships, new Friends and a Las Vegas platform for action commitment by the Young BPW’s present resulted in a great outcome for all! Congratulations to everyone!
BPW International initiatives (Women’s Empowerment Principles and Equal Pay Day Campaigns) are already into full launch and participation by many affiliates. Recent Workshops in Korea, Vienna and with Singapore to come on the 15th is giving our members all the tools and information to participate and realize full potential. There will be an update on these initiatives in each E-News enabling everyone to remain informed.
Check the BPW International website also for updates and news of all these important activities in this very busy month! Tremendous success and momentum is being realized.
